patella grind test for PFPS - compressive forces on the knee can lead to pfps cook et al 2010

royal london hospital test for patella tendinopathy - anteriot knee pain. maffulliet et al 2017 says the test is 88% sensitive and 98% specific.

hoffas test: suspected fat pad impingment from overuse or repeated trauma. pain produced during extension range because ipf is trapped between patella tendon and anterior femur.

functional test: small knee bend, sit to stand, squat, cook et al 2010 says pain on functional movement could suggest pfps

modified prone knee bend: femoral nerve which innervates anterior thigh and knee joint, if peripheral nerve damage then there could be pain at the knee
