Flashcards in Knob Controls Deck (28):
1

Annotation on/off
Comments on/off

Annotation or comments maybe entered on the screen

2

Erease/clear/clear screen

Erase all these are entered annotations from where the cursor is located.

3

Backspace

Erase the last character to the left of the cursor

4

New patient key/end current patient key

Weirs current patient ID, graphics, stored images, and comments. Allows for new patient

5

Transducer/probe button

Select different transducers/probes

6

Imaging preset

Select an appropriate imaging preset as a starting point for pre-programmed imaging parameters.
This is the starting point in which the examination will be performed

7

Frequency

Select imaging frequency based on patient anatomy and type of exam.

Better tissue resolution of superficial structures is attenuated with higher frequencies. Lower imaging frequency is used for different structures, but image definition for more superficial structures will be lost

8

Depth

Select imaging depth of 2D overall gain
Adjust image size

9

TGC

Equalize differences in received echo amplitudes due to reflector strength. Returning echoes from deep in the body are amplified so information on deeper structures can be received

10

TGC curve

Display TGC information. The shape of the TGC's curve is affected by the TGC setting. TGC curd is located birthday clean on the right side of the ultrasound image on the screen

11

Focal zone position
Focal zone number

Position the focals him to the desired scanned up. Ads or removes additional focal zones.

12

Dual image and/or left or right key.

Display two images side-by-side for comparison. Image measurements can be compared

13

Image direction

Reverse the scan direction of the displayed image. Image will change from either a right to left direction or up and down direction

14

Freeze key

Freeze image and to spend real time. Press button again to unfreeze image and resume in real time. After image is stored measurements and calculations to be performed

15

Cine loop

Store recently scanned image frames into system memory before freeze Kim is depressed. Images can be reviewed by sonographer during this control

16

Print/store key

Activate programmed storage device to store frozen image. The system will remain in freeze until image is stored

17

Trackball

1. Change the scan area for the sector size and color box size or Doppler and Doppler application
2. Guide cursor on the screen
3. Position measurement calibers during freeze mode

A sept or enter key allow sonographer to set the selection made through the trackball function. In systems with the same loop, 2-D images can be schooled in real time. TracFone conserve additional functions depending on the system

18

Distance

Place calipers for distance measurements.

19

Trace/ellipse

Outline for a curve or circumference measurements

20

Measure

Complete measurements and display results to calculate volume measurements

21

Off

Erase cursors, outlines, and caliper results

22

Body pattern

Display body pattern to indicate patient positioning. Pattern is displayed on the monitor screen and on images

23

Color Doppler/power doppler/ m mode

Activates color or power Doppler, post wave, and or M mode imaging. Imaging and trackball will change based on which imaging mode is activated

24

Monitor controls

Controls on the system monitor that can be adjusted to improve visualization of images. Brightness and contrast controls for Jermaine controls on the display monitor.
Schedule adjust light output for the image. Contrast control adjust the difference in the light and dark parts of damage note maintaining a very high display contrast can eventually damage the monitor screen. Avoid using high display contrast settings for extended periods of time see this is the manufacturers guidelines are recommended contrast brightness and temperature settings
