Landing Gear and Brakes Flashcards
(20 cards)
Q.Which pump/system can be used to charge the Inboard brake accumulator?
A.Left, PTU and AUX.
Q.How would failure of a gear door to close after gear retraction be indicated on the flight deck?
A.By a CAS message only.
Q.Explain how to set the parking brake.
A. Pull the parking brake handle up, until it locks in position, and verify inboard brake accumulator pressure.
.What is the function of the emergency landing gear handle (T-handle)?
A.It releases the Nitrogen to provide extend pressure to the landing gear and the Nitrogen pressure repositions the dump valves allowing fluid to be returned to the reservoir.
Q.What is the purpose of the Power Transfer Unit (PTU) BWI?
A.It will indicate Bearing wear of the PTU
Q.Should an abnormal event occur during or shortly after takeoff, what is the minimum altitude that should be attained before taking action (except for retracting the landing gear and silencing aural alerts)?
A. 400 ft AAL.
Q.The blue NWS Fixed Gain CAS message appears. What does this indicate?
A.The NWS does not vary the steering angle with ground speed, It applies a fixed maximum steering angle of 82° at any speed
Q.How does the anti-skid system determine if a wheel is in a skid condition?
A. By comparing the wheel speed to a predetermined reference value
A.Autobrake MED is selected for landing. Will the FMS be able to calculate the correct Landing Distance Field Length? (Blockpoint 2 or later)
A. Yes, but provided Autobrakes MED is selected on the FMS Landing Performance page.
Q.Autobrake MED is selected for landing. Will the FMS calculate the correct Landing Distance/Field Length?
A.No, the FMS will only calculate assuming Maximum Manual Braking.
Q.How are the landing gear handle and the landing gear control modules (LGCM) connected?
A.Electrically, through the Landing Gear Control Unit (LGCU).
Q.How can the Autobrakes be disarmed when they are active during landing?
A.By either operating the brake pedals or by selecting the Autobrake Selector to OFF.
B.What is the function of the landing gear dump valve switches on the cockpit overhead panel?
A. It repositions the respective dump valve so that any fluid in the landing‑gear system is returned to the reservoir, and releases the nitrogen to extend the landing gear.
Q.Where can brake temperatures be read on the G650?
A. On the BRAKES synoptic page.
Q.If the parking/emergency brake is used to stop the aircraft, what type of antiskid protection is available?
A.None.
Q.What is the maximum speed for NORMAL landing gear Extension?
A.225 KCAS
Q.What does the light in the landing gear handle indicate?
A. The gear position is not in agreement with the gear handle position.
.Autobrake HIGH selected. When will the Autobrake system apply full braking during landing?
A.After Nose Gear touchdown.
Q.What is the correct Nitrogen pressure for the landing gear emergency extension bottles (at 70 deg. F)?
A.3000 PSI
Q.What will the RTO mode of the Autobrake system provide when rejecting the take‑off at 100 KCAS?
A.Full brake pressure with antiskid protection
