- Ideational meaning: representation of human experience
- Interpersonal meaning: social roles/voices
- Textual meaning: organization of discourse

A
- Language is not something we can pick up and use at will. It is not external, it was not created by man at a point in time.

Subjectivity (sense of self & “I”) is only possible through language. Words like “you” and “I” only have meaning in discourse.
