What systems are the brakes?
Normal Brakes use System B
Alternate use System A
Brake Accumulators use System B
If both normal and Alternate fail, trapped pressure in the Brake Accumulators can provide braking applications or parking brake application
What protections are provided by Anti-Skid and do they work on both brakes?
Anti-Skid provided by both Normal and Alternate Brakes. Skid, Locked Wheel, Touchdown & Hydroplane Protection.
When do Autobrakes begin? Does anything happen during deceleration?
Autobrakes begin when both forward thrust levels are retard
Main Wheels Spin Up
- Autobrake pressure is released as thrust reversers and spoilers contribute
How to disarm autobrakes?
AUTO BRAKE DISARM light will engage when:
Move speed brake lever to down,
Advance thrust levers
Apply manual brakes
Parking Brake
Both System A & B can power. If A & B unpowered, can be maintained by accumulator
Describe the Takeoff Config Warning System and when it goes off
Takeoff Config Warning System sounds when the airplane is on the ground at takeoff power and:
- Flaps not 1-25
- Leading Edge devices not in takeoff Config
- Speedbrake Lever not in DOWN position or
- Spoilers not DOWN with the Speedbrake lever DOWN
- Parking Brake is set
- Trim not set for Takeoff Range
