A

Praetor Lucius Aurelius Cotta- introduced bill to divide law court between senators, equites, and lower class of equites called tribuni aerarii.
This law would reuse the authority of the senate, and the senator’s ability to save fellow senator’s accused of crimes

How did Verres try to derail Cicero’s prosecution?

A

Verres attempted to delay the prosicution by creating a charge of extortion against the governor of Achaia, asking for 108 days - 2 days less than Cicero’s request. This would delay Verres’ trial to the following year when Hortencius would be consul, and a new jury would have been selected.
