for LLDP, you can control whether an interface can receive and not transmit and vice versa

How does CDP work?
A
Messages are not forwarded and only neighbours see it. Each neighbour is recorded on a CDP neighbour table and kept for 180 seconds

How does LLDP work?
A
Must be manually enabled on cisco devices. Does not forward messages along which are sent every 30 seconds and hold time is 120 seconds
