Why was Cold Harbour rendered one of the biggest finial suicide by union soliders?
- The battle is summed by final suicide run by Union soldiers
- 7,000 killed in 20 minutes (glimpse of future WW! Battlers)

Why General Grant for the Union as, Lee to grab what bodies off the floor?
- Grant asked Lee is he could grab the bodies and wounded. Lee: only if you show flag of defeat. Grant: said fuck off, and Lee knew this was going to be a messed up war
What was the Andersonville P.O.W Camp?
The Andersonville P.O.W. Camp, in which was had - 45,000 union troops are put into open field behind stockade and creek (they shit, bath, eat, etc. in that creek). A third will die from disease
What were the conditions in Anderson ville P.O.W Camp?
- Reminiscent of total war
- Set up a dead line, anybody who crosses gets shot; suicide is common
- Once Andersonville is liberated they will find starved troops in horrible conditions
Who is Henry Wirz?
Henry Wirz was the CO of Andersonville, in which he would use the same defence as the Germans, that he in fact was just following order.
What occured to henry Wirz due to his, engagement or his way of doing things whats occured?
Henry Wirz was - Executed under the capital dome in Washington DC? As this became one of the modern war crime trials.

Andrew Johnston was a pro-union southern, in which his former, position was being a pro-war democrat, in which was perfect, because he chose for Lincoln. as he unifed parties.
Why did Chase Resign?
- Salmon P. Chase threatened to resign multiple times,- He is a good treasurer
- He is the guy who introduces the income tax for the united states (how they payed for war)

- Lincoln goes to Salmon and asks if Chase could talk to the Republican party on who to appoint
o Next day he appoints the people he wanted to appoint anyways
o Lincoln refuses to sign; Chase gives 4th resignation letter

- Was expecting to get a call from Lincoln (we can work this out) but instead people are scratching off his name from his glass

What is the plan for the battle of Cold mountain?
- Plan was to blast a huge hole in the line and send black troops through that gap
o Troops practice and warned not to go into the crater but go around it
What occurs last minute? with General Burn Side ? since he is the CO of the operation?
- Last minute General Burnside (CO of operation)
- Reason is unclear but Burnside replaced blacks with whites (who were not trained)
- White untrained troops, and instead of going around the crater, the go down into it
