admin. to passively protected animal (young animal which is getting milk from mum with ab)
vaccine given too late

Q

List the adverse vaccine reactions and what it leads to

A

Adverse vaccine reaction

  • errors in manufacture or admin. which leads to immunosuppression, clinical disease, felt death
  • toxicity which leads to fever, inflammation and pain
  • inappropriate response leading to hypersensitivity, neurological and foreign body reactions

Q

Explain the relationship of ab present in mums milk and how this changes over time

A

maternally ab are transmitted via colostrum this is passive immunity
levels of protection
depends on the quality of mums colostrum and the amount consumed
at 4-6 weeks the ab levels decrease and by 16 weeks they are all gone during this time the babies own immune system starts works so as decrease the other increases
