Q
What is the Central Nervous System (CNS) and what is it made up of?
A
- The complex of nerve tissue that controls the activities of they body
- in vertebrates, it comprises (of) the brain and spinal cord
It is made up of:
- Brain
- spinal cord
2
Q
What is the Peripheral Nervous System (PNS) and what is it made up of?
A
- The nervous system outside the brain and spinal cord
It is made up of:
- Somatic nervous system which contains afferent nerves (carries information to - sensory) and efferent nerves (carries information from (motor)
- Automatic nervous system which contains afferent nervous and efferent nerves (parasympathetic - rest VS digest) and (sympathetic - fight VS flight)

- pericranium
- loose areolar
- galea aponeurotica
- subcutaneous connective tissue

5
Q
What are Meninges?
A
- Meninges = Membranes
- Meningitis = inflammation of the meninges
- Dura mater = Hard
- Mother - Arachnoid mater
- (Subarachnoid space in between, filled with cerebral spinal fluid)
- Arachnoid traebeculae
