Q

What did Costa and McCrae (1995) suggest when looking at FFM and Eysenck’s PEN model?

A

-Suggested that
Eysenck’s P is a conflation of C and A
- Is O a part of FFM or is it really part of intelligence domain?

Q

What influence does shared environment have on traits?

A

(Hahn et al,2012): twin studies found that effect of shared environment is small, if not zero

Q

What are some critiques of the FFM and B5?

A
  • Block (1995): problems using factor analysis to determine, one personality, adjectives selected to fit model
  • Eysenck (1992): some factors (A&C in particular) better seen as facets of N and P
  • Digman (1997): B5 factors highly correlated, proposes two super factors alpha and beta
