Great Law of Peace
One of the oldest recorded forms of democracy that inspired the US Constitution and united the 6 Haudenosaunee Nations on the principles of righteousness, justice and health.

Attempted to assimilate indigenous children into mainstream American culture through volition and force –> Seneca language and culture suppressed following take over by NYS Office of Charities, focused on vocational training
Funded by Civilization Fund Act of 1819 promoting “American” education
Kinzua Dam
Built to control flooding in Pittsburgh, but submerged 10,000 acres of Seneca land and violated Treaty of Canandaigua
