Working conditions
• low wages
• 14 hour workday , 6 days a week
• no government aid for disabled workers
• children from age 10 were expected to work
• had no cooling or heating system
Explain how the working class was affected during the years 1800 to 1850
During the 1800s to the 1850 the working class like laborers and factory workers saw a little improvement in their lives. Their living and working conditions were still hard. They felt frustrated as machines took over jobs and some even smashed the machines they thought were replacing them.
Explain how industrialization and urbanization affected the lives of women
Middle class woman were freed from chores because they could hire help some went to college and got jobs like teachers and nurses . woman who did work were criticized by people who said they shouldn’t work outside the house . working class woman earned low wages in factories or worked as cooks, maids, and childcare workers because more families could afford to hire them
Positive effects
1) created jobs for workers
2) increase production of goods
3) improved living standards overtime
4) gave people access to education
5) workers got better, wages, and shorter hours
6) healthier diet, and better housing and cheaper mass production of clothes
