• Juries spread the decision making process → having panel determine the outcome spreads the decision making process, therefore eliminating bias/corruption
• Juries are impartial and independent → prior to court, they are instructed to the need to be unbiased

• Juries do not need to provide a reason for their decision → their findings could be based upon attitudes or discrimination
• Juries can create delays and extra costs → implementing a jury takes time as well as court procedures + evidence needs explanation to juries
