77
Q

a-wa-ti-s̆i-na

A

awâtīs̆ina - 2 things to note. Number could be discerned by case endings. Feminine Singular Accusative case ending would be ‘am’ (awātam). Feminine Plural Accusative case ending would be awâtim. This is of course a suffixed form. Awāt is the bound form of the term. Therefore we would expect the suffix to attach directly to this form (in nom and accusative, not genitive, i would also be there in singular genitive and would be long). However the presence of the i suggests that this is a plural accusative form (fem, plural forms drop the m before suffixes and the final vowel lengthens.
