-Purple for mammals, green for avian and reptiles
-Total WBC conc. from analyzer
-Blood smear
-Differential cell counts
-Cell morphology evaluation

A
Count of nuclei or total nucleated cell count (WBC should be the only nucleated cells in blood in health)

Small storage pool of neutrophils so often see neutropenia and degenerative left shift

Granulocytic hyperplasia takes about 5 days and see a neutrophilia with a left shift
