The variety and abundance of living organisms found in a particular area.

Number of individuals of one species found in an area.
Define ‘Producer’
Green plants that can produce their own food through photosynthesis.

Organisms that eat other organisms to obtain energy
Define ‘Herbivore’
Consumer that only eats plants to obtain energy
Define ‘Carnivore’
Consumer that only eats other animals to obtain energy

Consumers that eat both plants and animals to obtain energy
Define ‘Predator’
Consumers that kill other animals to eat them
Define ‘Prey’
Those that are killed by other consumers (and eaten).
Define ‘Community’
All individuals of all species in an area
Define ‘Ecosystem’
Community of living organisms interacting with each other and their physical environment.
Define ‘Habitat’
Location or zone where an organism lives
