Q

Lymph nodes

A
  • Small spherical-shapes organs of the lymphatic system that contain many white blood cells
  • Swellings in tubes
  • Mainly in neck, groin, armpits
  • Outer walls carries lymph in and out
  • White blood cells filter harmful particles out

Q

How Lymph is Formed

A
• Blood in arteries is under high pressure and tissue fluid is forced out of plasma
• It surrounds every cell in the body
• Re-enters blood in capillaries
Passes into lymph vessels as lymph
• Rejoins the bloodstream near the neck
