BATTERY fluid level refill
Note: Not all modern batteries require fluid level checks or maintenance as they are sealed and maintenance-free. Always refer to your car’s owner manual for specific instructions related to your battery type before attempting any maintenance.
If your battery is sealed or labeled “maintenance-free,” it won’t have caps—don’t try to open it; instead, check its health using a multimeter or professional tester. Always wear gloves and safety glasses when handling battery fluid, since the acid can be harmful
BATTERY fluid level refill
When your battery has removable cell caps (see first image), gently unscrew or pop them off and shine a flashlight inside—you’re looking for liquid that covers the top of the plates

refilling levels
Ideally, the fluid (electrolyte) should sit just below the fill-well lip by about a quarter-inch to half an inch, as shown in the diagram. That space allows for safe expansion and heat, while fully covering the plates keeps them working properly
If it’s low, top up with distilled water only—never tap water—just enough to cover the plates, then securely replace the caps

insertion of distilled water
Add Distilled Water: Use only distilled water and gently pour it into the battery, filling it to the appropriate level (just below the fill ports), ensuring not to overfill as this could cause spills, especially when the battery is in use.
Clean Up: Rinse off any spills with water and dry the area. Ensure all tools and equipment are stored safely after use.
