How can you comply with GDPR when dealing with mailing lists?
Explicitly obtain informed consent from every individual - must opt in
Inform individuals how there data will be used
Send confirmation of opting in
Only keep data for as long as necessary to achieve the stated purpose
Maintain records of consent and how data is used to for compliance
Clear and accessible option to unsubscribe

What is an NDA?
Non disclosure agreement - a legally enforceable contract between parties relating to sensitive information. I.e. agency data room
Punishment for breaching GDPR?
Fines up to to 4% of global TO or 17.5 million which ever is greater
What is the difference between an expert witness and indepdent expert
An expert witness relies on information provided to them, whilst an independent expert will obtain their own information to make their conclusion.
What is MEES?
Minimum Energy Efficiency Standards
- 01 April 2018 new leases / lease renewals EPC rating of E
- 01 April 2023 all leased properties to have an EPC rating of E
What are the fines applicable under MEES?
Less than three months - £5,000 or if greater 10% of RV up to £50,000
More than three months - £10,000 or if greater 20% of RV up to £150,000

12.5% of the RV. Minimum of £500, maximum of £5,000
What is the differences between a risk and a hazard?
A hazard is something that could cause an accident, i.e. a wet floor, whilst a risk is the likelihood of the risk occurring.
What is the safe person concept?
Individual assumes their own, colleagues and other safety at work.
