Stabilized Approach Criteria
Max Descent Rate above 1000 ft AFE
- Descent rate should never exceed altitude
NLT 1000 ft AFE
- Full configured for landing
- Stabilized descent rate not to exceed 1000 fpm
- Aligned with intended runway
NLT 500 ft AFE
- On target Airspeed
- engines are stabilized at thrust setting to maintain airspeed
Max Holding Airspeeds
265 KIAS Above 14,000 MSL
230 KIAS below 14,000 and 6,000 MSL
200 KIAS below 6000 MSL
Crosswind Takeoff
Light forward pressure on control column
Mostly rudder, little bit of aileron
Low Altitude Level-off
- Allow pitch mode FMA to change from TO to ALT CAP
- CBS (climb bug speed)
- Climb Power
- Immediatley set the IAS speed window
- Engage the auto throttle SPD mode
Engine Out Driftdown Manuever
A/T Arm Switch - OFF
Continuous Thrust - Select AND SET
Rudder Trim - 7 units into good engine
MCP Altitude - Set EO CRZ Alt or FL200
FMS
- CRZ Page
- ENG OUT prompt - Select
- Execute
Ensure VNAV engaged
The RA Manuever
Visually clear in direction of manuever
- Disengage autopilot
- Disengage auto throttle
- Smoothly adjust pitch & thrust to satisfy the RA
Smooth maneuver, passengers should be unaware
In landing configuration
- Go around after re-establishing automation
Windshear Escape Manuever (Departure)
CLICK CLICK PUSH PUSH
- Disconnect autopilot
- Disconnect auto throttle
- Push max thrust
- Push Go Around button
Pitch 15 deg nose high
“Good Guidance” - follow FD guidance
“You are out of it”
- Stand up throttles
- Restablish automation
- Normal after takeoff flow and flaps
CFIT Manuever
Rejected Takeoff
Engine Failure after V1
Windshear Escape Manuever (Arrival)
CLICK CLICK PUSH PUSH
- Disconnect autopilot
- Disconnect auto throttle
- Push max thrust
- Push Go Around button
Pitch 15 deg nose high
“Good Guidance” - follow FD guidance
“You are out of it”
- Push go around again
- Follow normal go around procedures
Go Around Manuever
- Go Around FLAPS 20
- Positive Rate
- Gear UP
- 400 ft verify roll mode
- 1000 ft - Clean up to flaps 5 manuever
