Q
Carbon Cycle
A
- Earth ‘breathes’ every day of year
- Summer Months: Plants photosynthesize, they absorb energy from the Sun and consume CO2 from the atmosphere to use as a source for growth
- Winter Months: Plants save energy by decreasing photosynthesis. This process results in lower absorption CO2 by the ecosystem, returning the cycle to its starting point
- Earth is no longer ‘breathing’ in a stable pattern, the 3 most common fossil fuels (Coal, Oil and Gas) release CO2 during combustion
- Photosynthesis can no longer keep up with absorption of these increasing CO2 levels

Q
Concrete:
Mixture and Cement Making Process
A
Typical Mix: 1 part cement, 2 parts sand, 3 parts aggregate and water (+ any additives)

3
Q
Concrete:
Frames
A
- Frames can be precast in a factory or formed onsite by pouring liquid concrete into temporary formwork.
- Reinforced cement concrete contains steel bars, often referred to as re-bar.
- This combination
works well, as concrete is strong in compression and steel is strong in tension.
