There is a very High Birth rate in most poor countries. Most families have many kids for the following reasons.
Children can work on farms and bring in money.
➢ Most women don’t have careers and marry young.
➢ Women are not educated about family planning (how to avoid falling pregnant).
➢ Contraception may not be available.
There are fewer older people due to the high death rate because:
- There is poor medical care.
- People cannot afford drugs.
- There are many overcrowded slums where diseases spreads easily.
- Many people do not have clean water / sanitation.
- There are food shortages and malnutrition is a problem.
