What is needed for collection of dispensed Sch2 CDs?
A
- determine who collector is
- request evidence of ID
- healthcare professional (name, address, ID)
- sign back of prescription in CD collector box

A
- CD register, used to account Sch1 and Sch2 drugs received and supplied by a pharmacy
- keep records for sativex (Sch4 part I) - HO recommends using CD register for this

A
- make entries chronologically
- enter them promptly, witihin 24 hrs
- ink, indelible (computerised)
- not altered, no cancelling, obliteration
- correction made by dated notes in margin/bottom of page (name, signature/initials, GPhC num)

What do running balances and stock checks need to be like?
A
- help discrepancies and irregularities spotted quickly
- standard procedures - cover balance check process how to deal with them
- liquids - visual check, volume, check balance
- 2 people, check recorded, signed and dated by HCP

- gives good summary of prescription requisition requirements
- kept for 2 yrs for Sch3 and 5 CDs
- practice - keep all, keept ^yrs in case HM Revenue and Customs check
