Microscope Flashcards
(17 cards)
Deftion of microscope
Are anything bag will mangnify an object . Make objects appear larger than they are. Allow us to see objects that can’t be seen with our eyes.
Two types of microscope
Simple and compound
Defition simple microscope
Are early microscope. Consist of single lens
Compound microscope and its type
Contian more than one lens. Are parfocal:still focused when objective are switched
Types: research and dissecting
Research ( compound light microscope
Have one ocular
Have a roasting nose piece with 3 objective
Created an invested images
(Upside down and backwards)
Are used to look at transparent specimens
Can magnify up to 400x
Dissecting microscope
Have one 1 rotating objective b. Has 2 light source top nad bottom . Use incident light (light reflected off of specimens) create a virtual image (same as it really is ) are used to look at sold objective specimens. Magnify specimens up to 30x
Ocular eyes piece
Is the lens you look through. Is magnifies the object 10x
Objective lenee
Magnify the object
-low 4
Med 10
High 40
Revolving nose piece
Contains 2-4 objective. Totals enabling different lense to be used
Course forcing know
Is used to force the object on low power. It moves the stage up and down
Fine focusing know
Makes the images cleaner
Iris diaphragm
Regulates the amount of light reaching the slide
Def image magnification
Is the magnification you are using when viewing a specimens. It created by both the objective and ocular.
Def images and the two types
It is when you see . Is created using light,( transmitted or incident)
Virtual
Inverted
Def of virtual al
The images is as it really is
Used by dissecting microscope
Created using incident light - reflects off the specimens
Def of inverted
The images is upside down and backwards. Produced by a research microscope. Created using transmitted light-passes through the specimens
Field of view
Is the amount of the speicwmnt you see. It is less with higher magnification. It is measured in microns.
