SPECIAL ORDERS ARE FOR SPECIFIC POST AND ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE. GENERAL ORDERS ARE FOR ALL POST AND DO NOT CHANGE.

WHAT ARE SPECIAL ORDERS?

THOSE ORDERS REQUIRED AT A PARTICULAR POST OR THOSE ORDERS REQUIRED FOR UNUSUAL DUTIES WHICH YOU ARE ASSIGNED FOR A SPECIFIC TIME OR TOURS.

WHAT IS THE FIRST GENERAL ORDER?

TO TAKE CHARGE OF THIS POST AND ALL GOVERNMENT PROPERTY IN VIEW.

WHAT IS THE SECOND GENERAL ORDER?

TO WALK MY POST IN A MILITARY MANNER, KEEPING ALWAYS ON THE ALERT AND OBSERVING EVERYTHING THAT TAKES PLACE WITHIN SIGHT OR HEARING.

WHAT IS THE THIRD GENERAL ORDER?

TO REPORT ALL VIOLATIONS OF ORDERS I AM INSTRUCTED TO ENFORCE.

TO REPEAT ALL CALLS FROM POST MORE DISTANT FROM THE GUARDHOUSE THAN MY OWN.

TO QUIT MY POST ONLY WHEN PROPERLY RELIEVED.

WHAT IS THE SIXTH GENERAL ORDER?

TO RECEIVE, OBEY, AND PASS ON TO THE SENTRY WHO RELIEVES ME, ALL ORDERS FROM THE COMMANDING OFFICER, OFFICER OF THE DAY, AND OFFICERS AND NONCOMMISSIONED OFFICERS OF THE GUARD ONLY.

TO TALK TO NO ONE EXCEPT IN THE LINE OF DUTY.

TO GIVE THE ALARM IN CASE OF FIRE OR DISORDER.

: TO CALL THE CORPORAL OF THE GUARD IN ANY CASE NOT COVERED BY INSTRUCTIONS.

TO SALUTE ALL OFFICERS AND COLORS AND STANDARDS NOT CASED.

WHAT IS THE ELEVENTH GENERAL ORDER?

TO BE ESPECIALLY WATCHFUL AT NIGHT AND DURING THE TIME FOR CHALLENGING, TO CHALLENGE ALL PERSONS ON OR NEAR MY POST AND TO ALLOW NO ONE TO PASS WITHOUT PROPER AUTHORITY.

WHAT IS THE DEFINITION OF DEADLY FORCE?

THE EFFORTS OF AN INDIVIDUAL USED AGAINST ANOTHER TO CAUSE DEATH, SUBSTANTIAL RISK OF DEATH, OR SERIOUS BODILY HARM.

WHAT ARE THE CIRCUMSTANCES JUSTIFYING THE USE OF DEADLY FORCE?

1) IN SELF DEFENSE.
2) IN DEFENSE OF PROPERTY INVOLVING NATIONAL SECURITY.
3) IN DEFENSE OF PROPERTY NOT INVOLVING NATIONAL SECURITY BUT INHERENTLY DANGEROUS TO OTHERS.
4) TO PREVENT OR INTERRUPT SERIOUS OFFENSES AGAINST PERSONS.
5) APPREHENSION AND ESCAPE.
6) LAWFUL ORDER.

WHEN IS THE APPLICATION OF DEADLY FORCE JUSTIFIED?

ONLY UNDER CONDITIONS OF EXTREME NECESSITY AND ONLY AS A LAST RESORT WHEN ALL OTHER LESSER MEANS HAVE FAILED OR CANNOT REASONABLEY BE EMPLOYED.

1) THE COMMANDER OF THE GUARD.
2) THE SERGEANT OF THE GUARD.
3) THE CORPORALS OF THE GUARD.
4) THE LCPL'S, PFC'S, PVT'S OF THE GUARD.

HOW MANY WARNING SHOTS ARE REQUIRED TO BE FIRED BEFORE APPLYING DEADLY FORCE?

WARNING SHOTS ARE NEVER FIRED.

1) TO APPLY DEADLY FORCE.
2) WHEN POSTING AND RELIEVING.

HOW WILL SHOTS BE AIMED IF DEADLY FORCE IS APPLIED?

SHOTS WILL BE AIMED TO DISABLE. HOWEVER, IF CIRCUMSTANCES RENDER IT DIFFICULT TO DIRECT FIRE WITH SUFFICIENT PRECISION TO ENSURE THAT A PERSON WILL BE DISABLED RATHER THAN KILLED, SUCH CIRCUMSTANCES WILL NOT PRECLUDE THE USE OF A FIREARM. PROVIDED SUCH USE IS AUTHORIZED BY COMPETENT AUTHORITY.
