The 30m sprint measures speed,canoeists need mainly speed in their arms so they can paddle quicker this ultimately shows that the 30m sprint isnt suitable because it measures speed in your legs and not in your arm and in canoeists you dont really need speed in your legs

The sit and reach tests measures flexibility so you can get a good range of movements at the joints when paddling.this will give them a better tecnique to go faster therefore this test is the most important

The one-minute press-up test measures muscular endurance.this important becuase they need to keep padling using their arms however the one minute press up test doesnt measure strength a more suitable test is the hand grip test

Methods of training:knowledge organiser

A

1.Continuous training is steady training. Your WHR will
not be very high but will be in the target zone for
aerobic fitness

2.Fartlek training originated in Sweden. The word
‘fartlek’ is a combination of the two Swedish works for
‘speed’ and ’play’

3.Circuit training involves a number of exercises
arranged so as to avoid exercising the same muscle
groups consecutively.

4.The aim of interval training is to have a high-intensity,
high-quality workout always done at a fast pace

5.Plyometrics are exercises in which muscles exert
maximum force in short intervals of time

6.Weight training uses progressive resistance either in
the form of actual weight lifted or in terms of the
number of times the weight is lifted
