Superlative Adjectives Regular rule
When your comparison requires the words most or least before the adjective or the English translation of the adjective ends in -est, use the following formula: definite article + mas/menos + adjective
Recuerdo que era el más simpático de mi familia.
Superlative Adjective Irregular rule
When your superlative adjective translates to English in a single word, use this formula:
definite article + superlative adjective
Yo era la mayor.
Imperfect tense acronym
W-eather
Stating what the weather was like in the past: “Hacìa mal tiempo el jueves pasado/It was bad weather last Thursday”
A-age
Stating someone’s age in the past: “Cuando tenìas tres años, eras pequeño/When you were three years old, you were young.”
T-ime/Date
Telling the time or date in the past: “Eran las cuatro y media de la tarde cuando Carlos jugaba afuera/It was four thirty in the afternoon when Carlos was playing outside.”
E-motions
Thoughts, feelings, and emotions: “estabas asustado/I was scared.”
R-epeated/ongoing
Talk about events that happened repeatedly in the past: “Ella iba al parque todas las mañanas//She used to go to the park every morning.”
S-etting scenes
Describing people, background, things, etc.: “Durante mi niñez, yo era obediente/During my childhood, I used to be obedient.”
