How do beliefs and assumptions influence definitions of health?

A

Every culture has different views on what is healthy and what they feel is an appropriate way to care for others.
This can be influenced by what is taught at a young age as well as experiences at a young age
May assume how others feel which we don’t know

A

Rootman and O’neil suggested that health should be positively defined because it focuses on mental health, quality of life, spiritualty, MULTIDIMENSIONAL, HOLISTIC approach
Health is important to individuals because it allows for meaningful and productive lives
