define interval

An accidental is the category of symbols used to alter notes
define CHS
A half step where two notes share the same note name
define DHS
A half step where two notes have different note names
define whole step
A measured distance between two notes consisting of two half stepts (ex: C-D), also called a tone or whole tone.
define key signature
a group of sharps or flats at the beginning of the song indicating which notes will be sharp or flat for the duration of the song.
define measure or bar
a regular division of beats separated by a line called a barline. Accidentals only last for one measure, and do not last past the barline.
define a barline
a line dividing measures or regular groups of beats.
