Statistical Inference
Refers to the process of drawing conclusions or making decisions about a population based on the analysis of a sample taken from that population (like means or proportions) and testing hypotheses using sample data, often with an associated level of uncertainty or confidence.
Sampling Distribution
The sampling distribution of a statistic is the distribution of that statistic obtained from all possible samples of a specific size taken from a population. It describes the variability of the statistic across different samples and forms the basis for making statistical inferences about the population.
What are the four requirements for the integrity of data and methods?
Communicate data sources
Be transparent about assumptions
Promptly correct errots
Explore and describe variation in individuals and groups
