What is mollusc contagiosum?
A
A common skin infection caused by MCV virus of the poxviridae family

How is molluscum transmitted?
A
- Close contact
- Shared towels and flannels
- More common in children

How does molluscum present?
A
- Pink/pearly white papules with a central umbilication
- Appear in clusters

How is molluscum managed?
A
- Self-limiting
- Avoid sharing towels etc as contagious
- Simple trauma/cryotherapy can be used for the lesions if necessary however usually treatment is not needed
