Subjunctive Mood

A

• Used for unreal things
Wishes, probability, hypothetics
• Present Tense: **(“not”) + bare inf.
- Formulaic subjunctive: “heaven forbid”, “God save/bless…”, “Suffice it to say”, “so be it”, etc.
- Mandative subjunctive: V/Adj’s of Request + ‘that’ Noun clauses
• Past tense: unreal past
