Evidence: This is created through the serious expression on Kahlos face
Effect: This causes us to feel depressed effectively communicating her emotional and physical struggles that she experiences throughout her life due to the lack of emotion shown on Frida’s face

Fact: Kahlo has used surrealism through her use of subject matter
Evidence: We know this as there are faces on the Sun and moon, along with the divide between the two contrasting landscapes
Effect: This forms a painting that is, especially unusual, as it is partially unrealistic and fascinating linking to the surrealism style

Fact: A politically charged statement/angry atmosphere has been created
Evidence: A harsh divide can be seen between the Mexican and American side of the painting, as Frida stands in the middle. She holds her Mexican flag proudly as the American flag appears behind her.
Effect: This adds a dramatic affect making conflict within the painting.
