What are morals ?
Morals are standards of living of right and wrong behaviour that can differ between cultures and can depend on the situation
Pre-conventional
When a child or individual believes rules cannot be changed due to consequences
Conventional morality
When people base their moral reasoning on a group of “norms” and view themselves as a good member.
Looking from the point of view of everyone them one person
Post-conventional
People have their own idea of whats right and wrong
Strengths of kohlbergs theory

Weakness of kohlbergs theory
Used stories that were artifical and might not represent real thinking (lack ecological validity)
Only boys were used so it’s not generalisable
They were all from Chicago so its not diverse and cultural differences
