A

•juxtaposition- physical separation only a couple of words apart. Emphasises his potential and how much love they have between them. The tape will eventually run out (foreshadowing death or separation)
•‘zero -end’ mum is holding start of tape implying for the time he was born
•extended metaphor- ‘tape’ symbolic of relationship- umbilical cord. They have a physical connection even before birth
-as he physically moves further away from his mum, she watches him go away from her just like how he is growing up and moving out
-emotionally close as she is still holding onto the tape

•commas - show mini separations from his mum and the listing shows he continuously checks in with his mum

A

oxymoron:
- he’s a kite starting to fly while mother is the anchor, keeping him secure
- he is able to be free as he is connected to his mother and knows his mother is still there
- he is exploring the world while keeping the relationship stable with his mother, representing parental love

- isolated words make them stand out
