What is an MRI machine
A
A giant magnet which patients are placed into making a uniform magnetic fried causing hydrogen atoms to align with the magnetic field, then a radio frequency is applied causing the protons to absorb energy causing different frequencies and displaying a detailed image

What are MRI scans used for
A
Soft tissue scans
Scans for abnormal body water (cysts, infections)
Different types of soft tissue
It’s non invasive

MRI limitations
A
Takes a longer time so not great in emergencies
Claustrophobia
Someone may have implanted metal devises
Reactions to the contrast agent
