I: base of distal phalanx of 1st digit , w/ additional slip of insertion into base of 1st met

I: proximal to soleal line on tibia A: flexor and rotator @ knee UNLOCKS knee weight bearing: rotates thigh laterally nonweight bearing: rotates leg medially

O: iliac fossa, iliac crest, ASIS, AIIS, superolateral portion of sacrum

O: posterior gluteal line of ilium, posterior surface of sacrum and coccyx
I: superficial fibers–>IT BAND, deep fibers: gluteal tuberosity
A: extends, laterally rotate and ABduct thigh @ hip
N: inferior gluteal N
gluteus medius
O: between posterior and anterior gluteal line
I: oblique bony ridge on greater trochanter
A:laterally and medially rotates extended hip, ABduct thigh

Gluteus minimus
O: between anterior and inferior gluteal line
I: anterior border of greater trochanter
A: ABductor of hip, medially rotate extended hip

Tensor fascia latae

A: hip flexor and medial rotator

A: lateral rotator, abduct flexed hip, assist extension at hip

O: superior and inferior pubic ramus, ischial ramus
I:medial surface of greater trochanter anterior to trochanteric fossa
A: lateral rotator, abduct flexed hip. extend hip
Gemilli
O: outer surface of ischial spine(superior)

N: lateral terminal br of deep peroneal nerve
abductor hallucis OIA/innervation
O: medial process of calcaneal tuberosity
I: medial side of the plantar surface of base of proximal phalanx of 1st digit (common with FHB)
some fibers may attach to tibial sesamoid
I: medial plantar nerve
