Character

A character is made up of appearance, actions, relationships, dialogue, thoughts, and opinion of other characters

Protagonist

The main character whom the events of the plot revolve around

Antagonist

A character, group or institution to which opposes the protagonist

Any object or person that represents something else

Refers to descriptive language that evokes emotional responses

To draw emotions of the reader to make them feel strongly toward the topic

Strong use of adjectives to describe a person, place, feeling or event

Tone

The way we imagine the author would sound if they were reading the text aloud - presenting attitude towards the topic

Point of View

1st person: main character narration
2nd person: reader is the character
3rd person limited: describes the character excluding feelings
3rd person omniscient: includes thoughts and emotions of characters
