  3. Making new trade agreements with countries in the South and East of Europe (areas which were not under the influence of the USSR, the USA, Britain, or France).

b. Goering’s 4 Year Plan.

A

i. In 1936, Hitler put Goering in charge of the economy.
ii. He created his plan as to make Germany independent of the need of foreign imports.
iii. One of Hitler’s main aims in his secret instructions to Goering was to have the economy ready for war in 4 years. (3)
iv. Germanies economic policy had a major impact on it’s increasingly aggressive foreign policies.
v. As well as working towards economic Autarky, Goering continued to re-arm Germany.
vi. His four year plan also expanded the industries needed to produce weapons.
vii. The increased use of things such as coal or iron led to a huge increase in government spending on rearmament.
