What happens after One-Call Center receives a notification?
The notifications are disseminated to members with underground facilities in the proposed excavation area.
How soon must utility members locate and mark their utilities after receiving the notification?
Within 3 working days.
Is there a charge for the excavator to use the One-Call Center service?
No, there is no charge for the excavator.
How far in advance must an excavator notify utility owners?
Not less than three working days (72 hours) nor more than ten working days prior to starting.
What must an excavator do if a utility owner is not a One-Call member?
Notify the utility owner directly.
How long is a NC One Call Center notification valid?
15 working days. (This may also be referred to as a ‘Renewal Period.’)
What can an excavator do if a utility fails to respond after notice?
Proceed with the excavation 48 hours after the notification.
Can a ticket contain several addresses?
Yes, as long as they are on one street within a one block range.
In an apartment complex, how should addresses be listed?
Individual building or lot numbers should go on different tickets.
What must happen if excavation involves more than one street?
Each street must go on an individual notification.
Can intersections be included on one notification?
Yes, intersections can go on one notification.
