Cause and symptoms of Multiple Sclerosis.
A
- Occurs when myelin sheath around neurons is gradually destroyed and hardened into “sclerosis”
- Nerve impulses are distorted or interrupted
- Autoimmune disease with no cure

Parkinson’s Disease characterized by what? Causes at a cellular level.
A
- A motor system disorder that leads to trembling of hands, arms, etc.
- Impaired balance/coordination
Result from loss of braincells in are of midbrain (substantia nigra)

Alzheimer’s symptoms and cure
A
- Disease caused by progressive brain cell death
- Leads to problems with memory, thinking, and behaviour
- Symptoms get worse, no cure

- Acute inflammation of meninges
- Causes by viral or bacterial infection
- May lead to deafness, epilepsy, brain damage, or death
- Common symptoms are severe headaches and neck stiffness

A
- External force injures the brain
- Causes are falls, auto accidents, and violence
- Result in physical, cognitive, social, or emotional symptoms

Mild form of TBI
- caused by jolt, bump, or blow to the head that causes brain to move rapidly inside the skull
- Symptoms are confusion, dizziness, headache, and nausea

A
Death of brain cells when area of brain is deprived of oxygen due to poor blood flow
- Ischemic : Block by clot
- Hemorrhagic : Blood vessel leaks or rupture

Paralysis and common causes
A
- Loss of ability to move or feel anything in all or part of the body
- Results from illness, poison, or injury (stroke or spinal cord injury)
