Q

Enumerate contents of the ventrolaterlal surface of medulla

A
  1. Anterior median fissure: continuous with the spinal cord
  2. Pyramid: on each side of the anterior median fissure, produced by cortico-spinal tract
  3. Anterolateral sulcus: between pyramid & olive, Exit of hypoglossal N
  4. Olive: Posterolateral to Anterolaterlal sulcus, overlying Inferior olivary nucleus
  5. Posterolateral sulcus: Between olive and Inferior cerebellar peduncle, **exit of (9,10,11) Vagus N, glossopharyngeal N & carnial root of accessory N **
  6. Inferior cerebellar peduncle: connects medulla to cerebellum
