What are the functions and sources of fats?

A

-backup energy source when carbohydrates aren’t available (1g fat= 9cal)
-some vitamins (A, D, E & K) are fat- soluble and can’t function without adequate daily intakes of fat.
-fat cells in adipose tissue insulates the body and helps sustain a normal core temperature.
-protects vital organs
