  1. Understand nature of emergency and remove all people from danger (where safe to do so)
  2. Ensure appropriate emergency services are notified
  3. Maintain communication with metrol every 10-15 minutes
  4. Get assistance from other personnel if available

- turn off radios and mobile phones - use a landline to talk to signaller/train control

- evacuate people from the affected carriage - lower pantograph of affected car (if safe to do so) to isolate air con - use fire extinguisher if practicable - look after your own safety first

What should you do if you come across blood, faeces, urine or vomit?
- don't touch it - report as per the FMP - may be attened to en route by a cleaner or station staff

What are the 5 steps after being pricked by a needle stick?
1. Wash the wound with soap and water/alcohol-based solution 2. Notify duty manager 3. Go to a doctor 4. Fill out the appropriate work cover/incident paperwork and submit to supervisor 5. Must go on needle stick reigstry so blood borne diseases can be tracked
