Ppts with bipolar and a family history of mood disorders where NOT more likely to have polymorphisism/ variations in the investigated genes ~thus there is no significant association between variations in these genes and bipolar.

A
- Serotonin is sexually dimorphic- behaves differently in men and women.
- Females with bipolar disorder were more likely to have variations in these serotonin receptor genes (suggesting a potential genetic risk for bipolar in females with these genetic variatiosn)
