Othello at the beginning of the scene?
Othello’s jealousy has reached its peak.
He publicly accuses Desdemona of infidelity, and she is confused and hurt by his actions - he hit her, striking her face.
Iago’s further manipulation?
Iago manipulates situations to make Othello believe that Desdemona is lying.
This convinces Othello of her guilt and he resolves to kill her.
Othello declares to kill her?
He then demands that she confess, but she denies his accusations, further fuelling his rage.
Iago continues?
Iago continues his machinations, turning those around Othello against him and deepening his sense of betrayal.
Cassio?
Meanwhile, Cassio is unaware of the trouble brewing and still unaware of the danger Othello poses to him.
