1

what is thinking distance

distance travelled in between the driver realising he needs to brake - and actually braking

2

what is braking distance

distance taken to stop once brakes are applied

3

what is terminal velocity

the constant speed at which a free falling object reaches when resistance allows it not to accelerate anymore

4

what is elastic potential energy

objects can store elastic energy if stretched or squashed

5

when a spring is stretched what is the increased length called?

the extenstion

6

what does F = k x e mean?

F = force in newtons
k = spring constant
e = extension in metres

7

what is the spring constant

the measure of elasticity in an object
