What is a participle?
- Verbal adjective
- describes nouns
- shows same time action of the main verb
What does the present participle look like?
formation: 2nd p.p stem plus ns or nt (genitive)
laundans/laudantis = praising
transalte with -ing (or while…or as)
What does the perfect passive particple look like?
Laudatus,a ,um = having been praised (1 and 2nd declension)
formation:
4th p.p
Translate with having been…ed (or ed..)
often with an ablative of means or agent
what does the future active participle look like?
laudaturus = going to praise/about to praise
4th p.p plus ur plus us
shows an action likely to happen

often used in active perphrastc with the verb to be: sum, ero etc
