What is a relative pronoun?
A pronoun that refers back to the antecedent (before the pronoun, the subject)

the friend, who is visiting me, is happy.
who= relative pronoun
friend = antecedent
- relative has the same gender and number as the antecedent
- Relative gets its case from how it is used in the relative cause.
